Shots fired in Lents market holdup -- no injuries reported
On Monday evening, September 24, at 10:10 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the "88 Market", at 9004 S.E. Woodstock Boulevard in Lents.
Officers learned that the suspect had entered the store, demanded money, and had brandished -- and fired -- a handgun. Apparently, however, nobody was injured in the incident.
The bandit obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and left in what was described as a brown or green "newer" four-door sedan.
Officers searched the neighborhood but did not find anyone matching the suspect's description. Based on preliminary information, officers believe the suspect is a white male, 25 to 35 years old, 5'10" to 6'00" tall, with a stocky build, and obviously in possession of a handgun.
