Mexican take on Hallowe'en in Ardenwald
The three-day Mexican holiday known as "Day of the Dead" – as recently depicted in the hit Pixar/Disney movie "Coco" – celebrates the lives of family and friends who have passed on, to support their memories and spiritual journeys. The holiday, celebrated at the end of October and the beginning of November, dates back to old Aztec festivals, and today is often combined with Hallowe'en activities. The front lawn of a home on S.E. 32nd Avenue in Ardenwald this year was thus composed (of, hopefully, simulations,) of several human and animal skeletons – in an amusing display that honored favorite friends and pets.
