Fire guts Mt. Scott-Arleta century-old home
By the time a fire had been put out in a Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood residence built in 1913, the upstairs had been gutted by flames.
Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) crews were dispatched to the blaze at 10:34 p.m. on Sunday evening, August 23. Crews arriving at S.E. 80th Place, between Henry and Duke Streets, reported flames and smoke in the house.
After the search of the structure for victims – none were found – firefighters made quick work of putting out the fire.
Fire investigators have yet to publicly announce the cause of the fire, or a financial estimate of the damage it caused.
