Stolen car stopped in Brooklyn; possible stolen items found in it
Cruising around Inner Southeast Portland on Saturday morning, February 19, a pair of Portland Police Bureau's "Public Safety Support Specialists" spotted a reported-stolen Subaru Outback on S.E. Milwaukie Avenue at Schiller, at the south end of the Brooklyn neighborhood, and radioed their find in to dispatchers.
At 10:05 a.m., eight Central Precinct patrol cars were dispatched to the location, which was directly across the street from the Coco Donuts shop.
At the vehicle of interest, officers and the Public Safety Support Specialists removed and cataloged equipment and merchandise from the stolen car.
"Officers recovered a stolen vehicle," confirmed Portland Police spokesperson Derek Carmon for THE BEE shortly afterward. "Two people have been detained, but no arrests have yet been made, or citations issued, at this point." But the investigation continued at that location for some hours afterward.
