More shooting reported in Inner Southeast Portland...this time, on Ogden Street...

DAVID F. ASHTON - In the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood, East Precinct officers inspected this vehicle, in which a man had been injured by flying glass when bullets shattered a window. The stillness of Thursday evening, January 27, was disrupted by gunshots along S.E. Ogden Street. East Precinct officers were dispatched at 8:49 p.m., and it didn't take long for 14 police cruisers to converge on the area.

Some officers were searching the roadside and talking with neighbors along a ten-block stretch of Ogden Street – going as far west as S.E. 72nd Avenue – looking for victims and evidence.

"I heard gunshots, 'bang, bang, bang', going off down the street, just after I got off the bus, here on 82nd Avenue," Durango Haggard told THE BEE as the investigation was getting underway.

Several officers focused on a red sedan, parked in the driveway of a home in the 8000 Block of S.E. Ogden Street.

"During their investigation, East Precinct and Focused Intervention Team (FIT) officers determined no one had been shot," said Portland Police spokesperson Sergeant Kevin Allen. "However, one male victim had superficial injuries from flying glass, when his car was struck by gunfire."

No arrests were made at the time; and the incident remains under investigation.
