For the third time recently shots were fired in profusion near a particular night club on Foster Road near 82nd

DAVID F. ASHTON - All those involved fled the scene near Shimmers Gentlemans Club as officers arrived to close down S.E. Foster Road, and undertake at least their third recent shooting investigation along this short block at 80th Avenue. It doesn't seem out of line to say that a particular nightclub on Foster Road near 82nd seems to have become a magnet for criminals with guns.

As the March issue of THE BEE was arriving on the newsstands reporting a second shoot-'em-up incident near the "Shimmers Gentleman's Club" in the 8000 block of S.E. Foster Road – there was already another one, in the early hours of Saturday, March 5.

According to neighbors, there were multiple shots fired near Shimmers, but this time the shots seemed to be along Foster, rather than in the parking lot of the "establishment".

East Precinct officers were again dispatched to that location at 2:48 a.m.

"Officers recovered evidence of gunfire; and found a crashed vehicle with damage that was consistent with gunfire," Portland Police spokesperson Sergeant Kevin Allen told THE BEE. "But all the involved ran away from the area before the police were called."

The PPB's new Focused Intervention Team officers responded and are investigating this incident. It might not be too much to suggest the FIT officers might just park near there for a few nights and see what happens.
