What if they held a shooting, and nobody stayed around? This happens much more often than you would expect...

DAVID F. ASHTON - East Precinct officers were sent to investigate a shooting on S.E. 71st in the Foster-Powell neighborhood, but upon arriving they found that both the victim and shooter were gone. A victim later turned up at a hospital.
Across the City of Portland, Portland police officers responded to more than a dozen "Shooting-with Weapon" calls on Friday night of May 27. One of those was in the Foster-Powell neighborhood.

At 6:04 p.m., East Precinct officers were sent to a "Disturbance, with shots fired" call near the vacant parking lot at the Vietnamese Grace Bible Church along S.E. 71st Avenue near Rhone Street.

"Officers found a crime scene and recovered evidence," a PPB official reported. "A shooting victim later walked into a hospital — and our preliminary investigation connects that victim to this case."

On June 1 the victim was released from the hospital. The Portland Police Enhanced Community Safety Team [ECST] continues to investigate this shooting.
