Former German restaurant in Brooklyn reopens with sushi
The building at 3131 S.E. 12th Avenue in Brooklyn, a block east of Brooklyn Pharmacy, was once the home of the Berlin Inn; and later, of the Brooklyn House Restaurant. After a period of inactivity there, it has re-opened as "Hamono Sushi" – a dining spot featuring Japanese BBQ and Sushi. For aficionados of this classic style of dining, the menu includes appetizers, Hibachi entrees, Nigiri and sushi specials, poke bowls, and a variety of specialty seafood dishes and classic sushi rolls.
The new restaurant is closed on Wednesdays, but is open on the remaining four weekdays from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m,, and on weekends from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. You can dine in (8 seats available during the pandemic) or on their front patio (16 seats) – or call them at 503/782-6072 to arrange takeout.
Owner and Sushi Chef Albert Chen supervises two employees at the new restaurant. For more information, go online – www.hamonosushi.com
