APRIL 29

Brooklyn Preschool Rummage Sale: This annual benefit rummage sale is on today and tomorrow, offering items assembled by a community of 30+ families – toys, books, clothes, housewares, electronics, and more – all to raise funds for this nonprofit preschool. Shop 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow at Reedwood Friends Church, 2901 S.E. Steele Street. Questions? Email – This email address is being protected from spambots. APRIL 30

Portland Chamber Music performs in Woodstock: Portland Chamber Music, a not for profit musical group, will perform this evening at 7 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4033 Woodstock Boulevard. The second half of the performance will honor Ukrainian composers. The concert is free, but donations are welcome, and will help defray costs of the performance. MAY 7

Woodstock Neighborhood Annual Plant Sale: This yearly plant sale raises money to provide maintenance for the Woodstock Community Center as part of a 2004 agreement to keep the Center open. At this year's sale, held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Community Center (5905 S.E. 43rd Avenue, a half block north of Woodstock Boulevard), there will be perennials, herbs, vegetable starts, ground covers, succulents, ornamental grasses, houseplants, and shrubs.

MAY 14 "Gathering in the Garden" in Eastmoreland today: The Eastmoreland Garden Club presents more than just their annual plant sale, today – this year it's a celebration of gardening and a spring event for Southeast Portland. In addition to plant and tree sales, there will be live music the entire time from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., local gardening vendors, unique new and used garden art, and the Rose Society will sharpen hand pruners as time permits (one to a customer). A free children's activity is included. And, members of local nonprofits representing Southeast Green Spaces will provide information and answer questions. This will be taking place 10 to 2 today at the Eastmoreland Garden Park, at S.E. Bybee Boulevard at 27th Avenue, and is co-sponsored by the Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association, with support from Southeast Uplift.

MAY 21

Mount.Tabor Art Walk returns, today and tomorrow: The Mt. Tabor Art Walk is back after the pandemic break! Now in its 15th year, this juried art show and sale returns today and tomorrow, with 36 talented neighborhood artists at 21 sites. Admission is free! Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., both Saturday and Sunday. Preview the art and download a map from the official website: www.mttaborartwalk.com – you'll see quality visual art, and meet artists in their studios and homes. Diverse media are represented, including painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography, prints, metal arts, photography, glass, jewelry, book arts, mixed media, and mosaics. Folk music concert this evening in Reed neighborhood: The nonprofit Portland Folk Music Society presents, in concert, "The Texicana Mamas" this evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Reedwood Friends Church, 2901 S.E. Steele Street. Doors open at 7. Tickets are $25 for adults, $12 for children age 12 to 18; under 12 free.
