Bright flowers and an Easter-decorated fence have caught the eye of a BEE photographer

RITA A. LEONARD - Easter balloons and hanging spinners join red tulips and a white picket fence in a celebratory yard along S.E. Lexington Street. We've had enough bad news lately; here's one BEE correspondent who is always on the lookout for some creative mood-lifter fashioned by a Southeast Portland resident. Here's one discovered this month! In the spirit of spring, many folks put out Easter decorations for their own delight and that of passers-by. The home in this photograph is situated at the corner of S.E. Lexington and Chavez Blvd. (formerly 39th). The resident has decorated the yard and fence to brighten the season.

A row of red tulips set off a white picket fence decorated with colored-paper Easter egg cutouts. Meanwhile in the yard, under blooming apple trees, inflatable figures of an Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs decorate the lawn, accompanied by colorful spinners hanging from nearby flowering trees.
