It's been open long enough to establish that it's a success. Go with Rita, now, to this new Westmoreland toy shop

RITA A. LEONARD - The owner of Limited Edition Toys, on Milwaukie Avenue just north of Bybee in Westmoreland, is former teacher Annie Nelson. If you're thinking that "Van Gogh" is still entertaining adults by combining wine with painting with oils just south of the entrance to the Moreland Theater in Westmoreland, you haven't looked in the window lately.

"Limited Edition Toys" has been open for months there at 6802 S.E. Milwaukie Avenue in that space, and owner Annie Nelson and her staff are open daily in the toy shop from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. She tells THE BEE that the store is busiest in the afternoons, considering that the stock of collectible cards, stickers, toys, games, dice, puzzles, miniature figurines, etc., is so loved by school-agers.

Store Manager Nick Foy says the shop also offers hats, posters, stationery, jewelry, books, and toy series, although their best-sellers are trading cards and "Funko Pops" figures, which occupy part of a wall at the back of the store.

When asked how she got into the business, Nelson responds, "I used to be a teacher, until COVID-19 showed up. I was familiar with all the extracurricular interests of my students, and decided to start this business to cater to their free-time interests. So far, we're doing great — especially around birthdays, and the Christmas season."

Nelson remarks that little kids seem to prefer the stuffed animals and 'mystery boxes' while middle-schoolers seem to prefer video games, trading cards, and Funko Pop figures (like bobble-headed figurines of stars in a TV show or movie). "We also sell a lot of music and K-Pop items, and can order things in as specials."

A poster on the front window lists the brands carried at the store, which include Pokemon, Disney, Roblox, Marvel, Funimation, Nintendo, Shonen Jump, PlayStation, Hasbro, Mattel, Dark Horse, DC, Fortnight, Funko Pop, and Hello Kitty. You can phone the store at 503/477-6938, or reach them by email — This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
