The Hillsdale Library presents Mr. Lizard's Mobile Zoo- Sensory Program. Mr. Lizard provides an interactive, hands-on experience like no other. He shares fun, fascinating information on these amazing, though often misunderstood, animals. Mr. Lizard and his animals have appeared in various TV shows, ovies and in print, including "The Late Late Show," CMT, Animal Planet and "Harper's Bazaar" magazine. SWTrails monthly hike leaves from Wilson High School and will take in Terwilliger Boulevard, the Woods Street Trail, the Gibbs Street pedestrian bridge, the Willamette River Trail and the new Seymour Court path to Corbett Avenue. The distance is approximately 5.5 miles, elevation 550 feet. Bring a snack, water, good footwear, sunglasses and dress for the weather. Well-behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SWTrails walks.

The 14th annual Hillsdale Book Sale. A benefit for the nonprofit Hillsdale Community Foundation, which initiates and supports a variety of community projects. If you've got books to donate, you can drop them off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, July 7, or Sunday, July 14, at the north entrance to HIllsdale Farmers Market. The sale is held at the Watershed Building at Southwest Capitol Highway and Bertha Court and extends along Capitol Highway toward the Business and Professional Association Blueberry Pancake breakfast, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon the same day.
