Windermere agents celebrate annual community service day
Windermere Real Estate brokers took a break from showing houses recently to get out and clean up their communities.
Friday, June 11 marked the company's 37th annual community service day.
Windermere brokers from Raleigh Hills volunteered at Focus on Youth's Sunflower Farm in Southwest Portland. Focus on Youth provides mentoring and learning experiences for thousands of disadvantaged and homeless youth. Through its onsite garden, the organization runs a program aimed at sustainable gardening, healthy cooking, nutrition, photography and science classes for homeless youth.
That same day, Realtors from Windermere's Portland Heights office set out to clean up streets around the city's west side in partnership with SOLVE.
SOLVE is best known for organizing litter and beach cleanups, while planting native trees in its mission to preserve Oregon's environment.
"After a year marked by social distancing, Windermere Real Estate is excited to host its 37th Annual Community Service Day and get back to safely volunteering outdoors to support the neighborhoods where the company's brokers live and work," a media announcement for the volunteer day stated.
The community service day saw other Windermere brokers clean up areas in Southeast and Northwest Portland, while others fed meals to area homeless residents.
