Azusa Pacific University

Elizabeth Tsen of Portland has been named to the Dean's List at Azusa Pacific University for the spring 2017 semester. Eligible students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Tsen is a nursing student.

University of Iowa

Portland native Frances Cannon received a Masters in Fine Arts for English from the University of Iowa at the close of the spring 2017 semester.

Carleton College

Three Portlanders graduated from Carleton College with the Class of 2017 in the June commencement. Hunter Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. Christian Purnell graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/International Relations. Kyle Schiller graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies.

In addition, Hunter Brown, who is a senior at Carleton from Portland, was awarded the Jean Schmidt Prize and the Carleton Toni Award in the Arts.

Wheaton College

Serena Clare Johnson of Portland graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and Ministry from Wheaton College in May.

In addition, Portland resident Serena Johnson was named to the Dean's List at Wheaton College for the spring 2017 semester. To earn Dean's List honors at the college, an student must carry 12 or more credit hours and have a 3.5 GPA or higher.

University of Hartford

Portland residents Yvonne Kengla and Jonathan Matter have been named to the University of Hartford's Dean's List for spring 2017.

Loyola University Maryland

John Duffy, a member of the Class of 2019 from Portland, has been named to the spring 2017 Dean's List at Loyola University Maryland. In order to qualify for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum GPA of at least 3.5 for the term and maintain a course load of a minimum of 15 credits.
