Keep it natural
The recent Walking With Purpose column by Rick Seifert offers an excellent narrative on walking in our Southwest neighborhood.As an active neighbor and walker, I agree with his perspective. Our sidewalk "deficiency" means we are more vigilant, we choose our routes and our walks are closer to nature. His reference to Thich Nhat Hanh is another reminder about walking to walk without multitasking or ulterior reasons.
Yes, let's commend SW Trails. Overdevelopment with increased chaos is Portland. As Rick describes, the quality of our neighborhood walking is essential now and for generations to come. Keep it natural.
