SW Connection reader reports example of neighborhood activism near Verde Cocina

The tree was quickly removed and turned into a hitching post for Doolin and Nola.I was walking my two Border collies, Doolin and Nola, west on Capitol Highwal from Hillsdale and as I began to cross Capitol I heard a loud crack and saw a branch shake violently. It then broke off the fir tree and crashed harmlessly across Capitol blocking both lanes of traffic. I tied my dogs to a post and with Megan and Jose from Verde Cocina, a neighbor and the driver of a blocked car immediately dragged the Mother Nature barrier aside. A traffic jam was averted within minutes by caring people willing to problem solve joining forces with strangers. Let's make America KIND again. L'Chaim! Salud! Slainte!
