Scappoose Easter Egg Hunt

Scappoose Kiwanis is sponsoring its annual Scappoose Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10 a.m. at the Grant Watts Elementary School playground. Last year, over 5,000 plastic Easter eggs filled with candy and toys were hidden for children ages 12 and younger to find. Monetary donations are appreciated and can be sent to Scappoose Kiwanis Club at P.O. Box 482, Scappoose, 97056.

Donations of supplies, such as candy, toys, Easter baskets or other Easter-related goods, can be dropped off in care of Karen Stoel at Otto Petersen Elementary School. Tammy Lukinbeal (503-543-7614) is also available to receive donations. It is appreciated if all donations are received by Monday, April 14.

mEGGa Egg Hunt

The mEGGa Egg Hunt, held at the Columbia County Fairgrounds at 58892 Saulser Road, St. Helens, offers hunts for five age groups of children ages 12 and younger, as well as a special needs hunt for physically and cognitively challenged youth ages 15 and younger. All hunts start promptly at 11 a.m., with gates opening at 9:30 a.m. In addition to the hunts, a petting zoo, face-painting, horse rides, archery and robotics demonstrations and other features will be offered. The event is free, though donations prior to the event are appreciated.
