Traffic stalled for hours after crash on Highway 30

The crash sent the driver to a hospital and left Highway 30 closed for hours.One person was hospitalized Monday, Aug. 24, following a single-vehicle semi-truck crash on Highway 30, about 3 miles west of Goble near the former Trojan Nuclear Plant.

A semi-truck overturned and went down an embankment just before 10 a.m., leaving eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic closed for more than two hours Monday afternoon, according to Oregon State Police Sgt. Kyle Hove.

The semi-truck's driver was transported to a Portland-area hospital by Life Flight, Columbia River Fire & Rescue Division Chief Ron Youngberg said.

As of 1:30 p.m. Monday, traffic on Highway 30 was open to one lane, CRF&R reported.

OSP is investigating the cause of the crash.
