Carnival rides, 4-H events, festive foods, entertainment draw crowds to 2017 event

The 2017 Columbia County Fair and Rodeo was held at the Columbia County Fairgrounds last week, with events running from Wednesday, July 19, through Sunday, July 23. Annual attractions like the carnival, 4-H presentations, and the junior and National Professional Rodeo Association rodeos all drew crowds. Rides were provided by Rainier Amusements and bands like Hit Machine, Don and The Decades, Workin' for the Weekend and others performed live music over the course of the fair.

Some events, like the demolition derby, were cancelled with little notice. Others, like the Pirate's Parrot Show, were new this year and helped fill any gaps.

As of Wednesday, fair organizers were still calculating ticket sales for this year's event.
