Residents should be advised about areas where traffic could cause delays, event organizers say

The annual Hood to Coast Relay and Portland to Coast Walk Relay will take place on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 25 and 26, with tens of thousands of runners participating in the team-style relay races. Traffic in the Scappoose and St. Helens areas will be affected by the race. Residents should be advised about the following areas where traffic could cause delays, according to event organizers.

Traffic will likely be delayed along Highway 30 between 4 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday; Highway 47 from 1 p.m. Friday to 12 p.m. Saturday; team relay points at Scappoose High School and St. Helens High School; and leg 18 of the race in St. Helens, which runs along Pittsburg Road, Sunset Boulevard, Columbia Boulevard, Gable Road and Bachelor Flat Road near the Columbia County Fairgrounds.
