PHOTO COURTESY OF COLUMBIA RIVER FIRE AND RESCUE - Columbia River Fire and Rescue crews responded to a single vehicle rollover crash involving a semi truck, Tuesday, Sept 12. UPDATE: HIghway 30 in Rainier is now open, after a temporary one-lane closure, while emergency crews respond to a rollover crash that occurred Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m.

Columbia River Fire and Rescue crews responded to a single vehicle crash where a semi truck rolled over, just past the Longview Bridge just before 10 a.m., according to CRFR Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer Motherway.

When crews arrived, they found a single semi truck that had rolled over just past the Longview Bridge near the Highway 30 exit towards Clatskanie, Motherway said.

A LifeFlight crew was on standby to respond to the scene, Motherway said, but crews determined that after the driver of the truck was extricated at 10:21 a.m., that he did not need to be air lifted. The driver was transported by ambulance to a Portland area hospital.

The Clatskanie Fire Department, Longview Fire Department, Oregon State Police and the Rainer Police Department were also on scene, Motherway stated.

Previous social media posts, indicated that Highway 30 was closed near the crash scene, but Motherway clarfified that one lane of traffic was moving in the area on the side of the highway where crews were working.

The contents of the semi truck load will need to be removed by hand before the semi truck can be turned upright, Motherway added. It's unknown what the driver was hauling in his vehicle.
