Choirs hold combined event tonight, March 6, to showcase choral selection in advance of festival season

GRAPHIC COURTESY OF ST. HELENS CHOIR - Choirs from Scappoose and St. Helens high schools will perform tonight at a combined event called the "Seven-Mile Spring Sing."

During the presentation, which will be held at St. Helens High School, two choirs from SHHS and a choir from SHS are slated to perform a variety of vocal pieces.

Scappoose Choir Director Kristen Caldwell said the showcase gives students from both schools the opportunity to sing for a crowd before the choral festival season begins next week.

St. Helens Choir Director Eric Stearns said the high school's two groups, Chor Leonis and Vocé, will sing Tuesday night in advance of their first festival performance at the Mount Tabor Choral Festival on March 9.

The showcase concert will begin at 7 p.m., Tuesday night, March 6.
