Outside of the classroom, Dow is involved in high school athletics and has been an asset to the basketball team. He was selected as athlete of the month twice this year, was named the most valuable player on the basketball team, and was chosen as a first team all-league player.

When he's not playing basketball, Dow also volunteers to referee for youth programs and offers private lessons to younger players.

"Drake is the kind of young man you want to have as a friend, he is a nice young man who treats people well. Drake is a leader in the classroom, on the court and in the school and the type of young man you would be proud to call your own," one of Dow's teachers stated in the press release.

When asked, Dow said his best quality is his strong work ethic.

"If you work hard you can accomplish anything you set out to do," he stated.

After high school, Dow plans to pursue a degree in business. Some of his hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and hanging out with friends and family.
