St. Helens Economic Development Corp. is partnering with a Seaside company to create a pop-up photo booth shop called "Halloweentown Inverted Experience," during the month of October.
When visitors try out the photo experience, they will see three different scenes that feature upside-down props and decorations. Visitors can pose with props on display, take a photo, then rotate the digital photo afterwards to create a visual special effect. The rotated photo might make it look like the person is diving headfirst into a pumpkin or riding a broom through the night sky, SHEDCO Vice Chair Amanda Normine explained.
"I can't wait to see all the pictures get shared. Seeing the visitors smile and really enjoy themselves is a big part of it for me," she added.
The idea came about after Normine visited the Inverted Experiences in Seaside and spoke with owner Keith Baker about setting up something similar in St. Helens for the fall.
Tickets are $10. The "Halloweentown Inverted Experience" is located inside Wild Currant Catering at 201 S 1st St. and will be open from noon to midnight on Fridays and 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays in October.
