Two occupants extricated from vehicle that crashed and landed on fence off Millard Road

Three people were hospitalized in serious condition Thursday afternoon, Jan. 17, after a crash on Millard Road in St. Helens.

A vehicle driving at high speeds lost control on Millard Road Thursday afternoon, crashing and rolling over before landing upside down on a fence, Columbia River Fire and Rescue Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer Motherway spokesperson said.

Emergency crews had to use tools to extricate two people that were trapped in the vehicle, while one other person was able to get out on their own.

The three patients were transported by ambulance to Portland area hospitals following the crash.

Scappoose Fire and Rescue assisted with the call. The Columbia County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police also responded and are investigating the crash.

A total of two rescue crews, two ambulances, two engines, and three division chiefs responded to the dispatch at 3:35 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
