Emergency crews dispatched to McCuddy's Marina on Friday, May 3, no injuries reported

The cause is still under investigation.Firefighters responded to a boat fire in Scappoose on Friday morning which caused $200,000 of damage to a single boat, which was declared a total loss.

Emergency crews from the Scappoose Fire District were dispatched at 5:11 a.m. Friday morning, May 3 ,to the 34000 block of Johnsons Landing Road, where McCuddy's Marina is located.

When crews arrived they discovered a 50-foot-long recreational boat on fire. The boat was about half-way involved in flames, a press release from SFD stated. No one was on board at the time of the fire.

Numerous fire personnel responded to the blaze, including SFD, Columbia River Fire and Rescue, and a a fire boat from Clark County, Washington. Fourteen firefighters, three engines and two fire boats were on scene, a press release from SFD stated.

Crews were on scene for more than two hours making sure the fire was extinguished.

SFD Division Chief Jeff Pricher, who was helping operate one of the fire boats, said the fire damage did not extend beyond the boat, but a nearby sailboat did suffer some heat damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
