Commander, sergeant subjects of internal investigations; sheriff cites personnel issues

Sheriff Brian Pixley confirmed the two were placed on leave last week but said there were unrelated causes.

Weaver has worked for the Sheriff's Office for more than a decade and was promoted to captain in 2014.

Townsend was hired to the sheriff's office in 2010 and promoted to sergeant in 2016.

Pixley declined to provide more information about the ongoing investigation, citing personnel issues.
