CCMH fires executive director
Columbia Community Mental Health's board of directors has fired Executive Director Julia Jackson.
Jackson was hired by the behavioral health service provider in July 2018.
Jackson was terminated following the board of directors' Feb. 4 meeting.
CCMH Board Chair and Columbia County Commissioner Alex Tardif declined to comment.
Jackson said she was fired without any explanation "and without an opportunity to hear the 'evidence,' if there was any, or give my side to it."
"I love CCMH staff and they were the best part of my job - I will miss them terribly," Jackson said.
"The Board of Directors has appointed an interim, collaborative leadership team of four to oversee agency operations and support staff," a press release sent by CCMH stated.
"CCMH's Board of Directors are committed to providing the highest level of care to our staff and our community while prioritizing safety, growth, and wellbeing," the press release stated.
CCMH had severed ties with its last executive director, Roland Migchielsen, in February 2018. Migchielsen had served as executive director for 11 years and said he was planning to retire at the end of 2018, but the board of directors voted to terminate his employment early.
