Saturday, July 25

Officers responded to a theft in progress reported by loss prevention employees at Fred Meyer. Following an investigation, a 32-year-old man from Portland was cited and released for theft.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 33000 block of Southeast Maple Street.

Officers responded to a report of fraud at Jackpot Gas & Grocery. A counterfeit $5 bill was seized and placed into evidence pending further investigation.

Friday, July 31

Officers responded to an audible alarm in the 51000 block of Southeast Second Street. The building was found to be secure and the scene was cleared.

Saturday, Aug. 1

Officers took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 33000 block of Southwest Havlik Drive.

Oregon State Police

Tuesday, July 28

Troopers observed a stolen vehicle on Highway 30 near milepost 23 in Scappoose. After attempting to stop the vehicle, the motorist failed to yield and started driving recklessly. The vehicle was later located by St. Helens officers and again failed to yield. The driver also attempted to hit a patrol vehicle. With the help of local citizens the vehicle with two occupants was found off a logging road near Vernonia. The driver, a 30-year-old Scappoose man, was arrested for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle, attempt to elude, reckless driving, reckless endangering a person and assault of a public safety officer. The passenger, a 32-year-old man, was arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass.

Thursday, July 30

Troopers responded to a domestic disturbance at the Brookshire Apartments in the 52000 block of Southwest 4th Street in Scappoose. A woman was irate, attempted to charge law enforcement and then spit on a trooper at the scene. A 20-year-old Scappoose woman was arrested for aggravated harassment and resisting arrest.
