Police have not released the name of the deceased from the single-vehicle crash

One person was killed north of Scappoose in a single-vehicle crash on the evening of Monday, Sept. 7.

At approximately 7:34 p.m. Monday, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 30 near milepost 22 just north of Scappoose.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda Civic was traveling westbound when it left the roadway, went down an embankment and came to rest partially submerged in a creek.

The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. OSP has not released the name of the deceased.

OSP was assisted by the Scappoose Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff's Office and ODOT.
