Frigaard is a dedicated quilter who has been volunteering with the First Lutheran Quilters group for about four years. The group makes quilts that will be donated to Lutheran World Relief, which ships quilts twice per year to developing countries. Some quilts will also be kept in-state and donated to the Oregon Department of Human Services for foster children.

Frigaard also volunteers with St. Vincent de Paul at St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens.

"I think we should all do something, and I'm able to do something I enjoy," Frigaard said, as quoted by Columbia County RSVP. "If we all just did one thing, it would make a difference."
