Family Fun RV, which officially opened March 1, is located at 58209 Columbia River Highway.

Shane Carlson, business manager, said Family Fun RV is a recreational vehicle dealership that sells, purchases and accepts RVs on trade. It can also consign RVs.

"We also do full-service as well," Carlson said. "We do parts and service, and some RV storage, as well."

The ribbon cutting is set for approximately 11 a.m. Friday. But the larger grand opening event runs through Sunday, June 19, with lots of family-friendly activities Carlson hopes the Columbia County community will come out and enjoy.

On Friday and Saturday, the festivities go from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. A car show Friday will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. featuring Highway 30 Cruisers with prizes. A barbecue all three days is set from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Games of cornhole and basketball will take place, along with music.

The first 20 people to arrive Saturday and Sunday will receive Father's Day gifts.

Horse rides will also be available.

Carlson is happy with the response he has received from the community in a relatively short period of time.

"Absolutely," he said. "We have had such a warm welcoming since we've been here … they all say that they're very happy that we're here."

Carlson added, "We get a lot of people that come in that have no intentions of even buying. They just want to look around and check out the whole building."

Carlson looks at Columbia County as recreational vehicle country.

"I would even call it a mecca of RVers for the state of Oregon," he said. "You drive through the neighborhood, and pretty much there's an RV in almost every driveway."

Jak Massey, member relationship manager for the South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, is looking forward to the ribbon cutting.

"We're very excited about that," Massey said. "I think that's awesome. I love the fact that this is a need that we have in the area, with an RV location on site where they can do service, maintenance, sell products and parts. I think that's super-cool, and it's needed, because a lot of people are going camping these days."

Speaking of the ribbon cutting, Massey said, "It's just a moment of congratulations. This is a big deal."
