Annual celebration was canceled in 2020 and 2021, but returns this Saturday.

PMG PHOTO: NICOLE THILL-PACHECO - The Novel Quilters had numerous quilt creations on display at the 2019 Columbia City Celebration.The annual Columbia City Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13. The main event runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Columbia City Grade School, plus a strawberry pancake breakfast runs from 7 to 10 a.m. at Columbia City Community Hall. There will be a "show and shine" gathering of classic cars, with live music from The Decades.

There will be a raffle for a queen-sized quilt made by Cathy Lundberg, the library director; vendors; a quilt display; an art guild exhibit; performance by the St. Helens ukulele band; free eyesight screenings for preschoolers; and a community art project. The event also features a large book and DVD sale, with a free book available for every child.

The event benefits the Columbia City Community Library.

The 2020 and 2021 celebrations were canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
