Letter: Preserve your right to bear arms
Measure 5-270, the Second Amendment Preservation Ordinance, will be on the ballot along with the ballots of nine other counties in November. That's right — people have stepped up all over Oregon to protect their rights and those of their posterity.
Liberty has always been way more popular than slavery, and our county has rejected the plundering of our rights in Salem. With your help, we will place yet another check between the tyrants and us, on our rights. Vote "yes" on Measure 5-270.
Since we are going to protect our rights, we need a sheriff that will honor his oath of office and help us to protect those rights that we hold so dear. Lt. Brian Pixley is on the record promising to honor his oath to the supreme law of the land (Constitution), support the SAPO, and be the people's sheriff.
Pixley's closest competitor for the job of sheriff is an ex-federal marshal who doesn't seem to have a working knowledge of the Constitution and seems to tap dance around questions instead of answering them. There are several concerns about this man's campaign. His biggest contributor is an ex-deputy who was fired from the Sheriff Office's and has contributed almost $13,000. The first thing that comes to my mind is, could this be cronyism? Were there promises made? Why the negative campaign, and why are some of the people who support Pixley seemingly being harassed on Facebook?
This is a close-knit community and it is strange to me to see and hear of tactics more suited for a national election. Please consider voting for the people's sheriff, Brian Pixley.
Last but not least, we need to fire Brad Witt. Brad has decided that we elect kings instead of representatives, and like a king, he only represents himself. Witt is on the record wanting to infringe on the rights of young adults, our young servicemen/women, and actually wants corporations to have the privilege to discriminate. He sends a message that you can fight for the Bill of Rights he enjoys, but you shouldn't be allowed to exercise those rights that you put your life on the line for. Un-American.
Aren't you tired of Ameriphobes that hate our country? We must fire this tyrant.
The good news is that we actually have a choice for representative this time. Brian Stout is running against Witt and will stand up and protect our rights. Brian Stout is a business owner and knows all too well that the Marxist policies from Salem are job-killing and destroy business as well. We have a great opportunity to protect our rights, the fruits of our labor, and the interests of our district. Please vote "yes" on Measure 5-270 and consider voting for Brian Pixley for Sheriff, and Brian Stout for District 31 representative.
We have a choice this time.
