Our Second Amendment Sanctuary Ordinance was officially approved for the November ballot on March 4. Signed petition forms were for Initative Petition 19-3, but the title in November will be Measure 5-278.
I want to thank everyone in Columbia County who helped gather signatures to protect our rights in record time. I would like to throw a special thank you out to the members of the Republican party, members of the 3%, and the Moms for Medical Freedom who went above and beyond in their effort to get us the signatures we needed in less than two months. Obviously, the sleeping giant has awoken and is tired of its rights being plundered and the Constitution being shredded by the majority party in Salem and the Legislature-buying Bloombergs of the world.
I ask that everyone reading this to get the word out for everyone to vote in November, and for everyone to vote YES on Measure 5-278 to turn our county into a sanctuary for the protection of our gun rights. The SASO is much stronger than the SAPO (Second Amendment Preservation Ordinance) we passed earlier and has strong penalties.
We are the first county to get the SASO on the November ballot, but we have a huge effort all over the state and should have many more counties following in our footsteps by November. We are living history right now. Our employees in Salem have declared war on us and we are nullifying their illegal laws the way Founding Father James Madison talks about in the Federalist Paper #46.
Remember that liberty is the inherent possession of man, and not the gift of government. Our rights are unalienable and untouchable by government. The government's sole purpose for existing is to protect our rights, and they are failing miserably and deliberately.
We must all get out and vote in November and serve up the reckoning at the ballot box that the arrogant super majority in Salem so richly deserves. We can start by passing Measure 5-278 by a huge margin, and by getting rid of Rep. Brad Witt, D-Clatskanie, who represents himself, not us.
The Republican Party is putting on a Second Amendment Summit at the Elks on Saturday, April 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. I will be speaking at the event, as will Kevin Starrett, Rob Taylor and Mike Strickland. There is no charge and it is something for everyone to learn, so please consider showing up.
If you have questions about the difference between the SAPO and SASO, they will be answered at this summit, or you can get ahold of me and I'll be glad to answer your questions. God bless.
