It's a brand-new year, and in 2021, we're looking to reconnect with the community.
Hopefully before too long, coronavirus case counts will recede and life will begin to return to a more sociable norm. It won't happen right away, and it will take a communal effort: wearing masks, limiting in-person gatherings and getting vaccinated.
In the meantime, we'd like to promote the work that South Columbia County's social clubs and organizations are doing to keep people connected and serve the community during this trying time.
Are you a member of a social club that operates anywhere between Deer Island and Sauvie Island? We'd love to hear from you.
Beginning later this month, we'll share a little bit of information on any social club that would like to be included in a small recurring feature in the Spotlight newspaper. It's our way of encouraging Columbia County residents to participate and reach out to one another after one of the toughest years in memory.
You count on us to stay informed and we depend on you to fund our efforts. Quality local journalism takes time and money. Please support us to protect the future of community journalism.
