Scappoose girls' basketball beats Taft for second win in three days
Kaylie Kopra leads with 14 points
The Scappoose High School girls basketball team beat Class 3A Taft on Wednesday for its second road win in three days.
The Indians won 40-21.
Kaylie Kopra led Scappoose (2-2 overall) with 14 points. Kendal Bailey scored nine points and pulled down 12 of the Indians 47 rebounds.
Scappoose led the Tigers (2-3) by a 22-7 count at halftime.
The Indians got their first win in 50-36 fashion at Estacada on Monday.
Lea Brodalas 23 points sparked the Indians (1-2). Kopra scored nine points and Bailey added seven points.
Scappoose led 26-21 at halftime and finished with 39 rebounds.
The Rangers fell to 0-3.
The Indians lost 56-10 at home to ninth-ranked North Marion on Friday, Dec. 11.
Brianna Smith led Scappoose (0-2) with four points. Bailey came away with five of the Indians 34 rebounds.
North Marion improved to 2-1.
The Indians are scheduled to play at Junction City at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
