Tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Clatskanie Middle/High School

The defending Class 4A state champion Indians (16-7 overall, 6-4 Cowapa League) have split all four meetings with Valley Catholic (15-8, 6-4) since the Valiants won their second Class 3A state title and joined the Cowapa League in 2014.

The visitor has taken all four games in the series, each decided by an average of 6.75 points.

Scappoose beat returning all-league honorable mention junior guard Colin Haggerty and Valley Catholic 53-48 on Jan. 22 in Beaverton, to which the Valiants responded with a 61-45 win on Feb. 9 in Scappoose.

No. 2 Seaside (20-3, 8-2), runner-up to Scappoose last year, reclaimed the league title. Seventh-ranked Astoria (17-7, 7-3) is the second seed.

Valley Catholic reached the first round of the state playoffs last year as the Indians won their fourth state crown and their first since 1973.
