The Indians, who previously won a regular-season tournament at Astoria Country Club on April 26, made themselves right at home in Astoria again on Tuesday. This time, Scappoose stepped up to win the Cowapa League district tournament title at Astoria Country Club, and in the process, set the table for its next goal — playing well at the Class 4A/3A/2A/1A regional tournament at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks on Monday and Tuesday.

The Indians were led by Scappoose senior Morgan Hall, who won the tournament title with an 86 to edge Valley Catholic's Caroline Hobson and her 86.

The rest of the Indians' varsity scorers included senior Kaitlyn Bakkensen with a 93 — the third-best score in the field — sophomore Callie Enos (seventh at 107), senior Kenzie Sue (14th at 122) and freshman Rylee Cook (16th at 127).

Together, the Indians shot 408 to win the tournament title. They were followed in the team standings by Valley Catholic at 425, Astoria at 453, Seaside at 552 and Tillamook at 678.

The tournament's top five individual scorers were: Hall at 86; Hobson at 88; Bakkensen at 93; Astoria's Jenna Travers at 95; and Astoria's Sam Hemsley's 101.
