The Indians' Luke McNabb was voted the Offensive Player of the Year and collected first-team honors as a quarterback, defensive back and punter.

The senior signal-caller finished the season completing 66% of his pass attempts for 2,141 yards, with 14 touchdown passes to just five interceptions. Additionally, McNabb rushed for 895 yards and an astounding 20 touchdowns, averaging nearly 90 yards and two scores a game.

His head coach and father, Sean McNabb, told the Spotlight prior to the season that Luke had improved tremendously over the past handful of seasons, and that in many ways, it was that hard work that led to his success on the field.

"He's done a lot just on his own to get where he's at," Sean McNabb said. "As a dad, I'm really proud of him, and as a coach, it's awesome having him, because having a kid like him in your program can help make your program a lot better."

At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, the both stout and athletic Luke McNabb was a problem for opposing teams. But it wasn't until he grew and worked his way into that body that his physicality allowed him to flourish.

"He was that kid who, growing up, wanted to be a quarterback and was always too heavy and too big, and it was about middle school where his body started to change," Sean McNabb said. "When he saw that change that was taking place, he really took it to another level with working hard, watching what he was putting into his body, and working out all the time."

PMG PHOTO: WADE EVANSON - St. Helens sophomore Austin Stockwell earned second team all-league honors as a punter.Joining Luke McNabb on the first team is teammate and receiver Colin Stoddard, who, despite missing the team's last six games due to injury, caught 28 balls for 556 yards and six touchdowns.

In all, Scappoose claimed 15 spots on the all-league lists, including McNabb, who was named a first-team quarterback, defensive back and punter; Stoddard as a first-team receiver and second-team kick returner; offensive lineman and linebacker Austin Verbout, a second-teamer at both positions; Owen Bogert, a second-team offensive lineman; second -eam receiver Malcolm Harrison; second-team defensive back Johnny Clothier; and kicker Aimar Cancinos, who was also named to the second team.

Honorable mention honorees include: linebackers Wyatt Anicker and Luke Frugia, along with defensive backs Quory Bays and Trey Dieringer.

PMG PHOTO: WADE EVANSON - St. Helens sophomore Houston Lee-Perry earned honorable mention at both running back and linebacker.
St. Helens, which was forced to forfeit three games due to COVID protocols, was shut out from the first team, but punter Austin Stockwell earned second-team honors, while the following players were honorable mentions: quarterback Tyler Tolles, Houston Lee Perry at both running back and linebacker, running back Kameron Shuttlesworth, receiver Dylan Shafer and offensive lineman Tyler Jennings.
