Lions basketball games will be held at the high school through January before moving to the middle school.

PMG PHOTO: SCOTT KEITH - The St. Helens High School gym will be hosting boys and girls basketball through January. The St. Helens High School Athletic Department has confirmed that all boys and girls basketball games will be played at St. Helens High School through January.

Originally, word from the coaches was that games in January would be played at the new St. Helens Middle School because of construction at the high school. But St. Helens High School athletic director Daunte Gouge said Monday, Dec. 6, that the current plan is to play in the main high school gym at least through January.

According to the Oregon School Activities Association (osaa.org) website, the first girls basketball game that will have to be played at St. Helens Middle School — provided the high school gym is available for games through January, but not beyond — would be Feb. 3 against Hillsboro.

The first boys game at the middle school would be Feb. 8 against Putnam
