St. Helens, Scappoose track athletes place at state
St. Helens
Senior Matthew Wojcik placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles, missing third by just 1/50th of a second.
Senior Hannah Hayduk placed second in the 400-meter race, setting a new personal record at 59.64 seconds.
Freshman Kallee Kester finished sixth in the girls 100-meter hurdles and set a personal record.
St. Helens girls finished seventh in the 4x400-meter relay, with senior Sarah Robinson, freshman Keely Scoville, freshman Hayden Moore and Hayduk.
Scappoose
Senior Colin Stoddard placed fourth in pole vault and eighth in long jump.
Senior Jed Barnaby placed seventh in the 100-meter race.
Senior Rowen Suchoski placed eighth in the 3,000-meter race and 11th in the 1,500-meter race.
Scappoose boys — seniors Ayden Patterson, Colin Stoddard and Jed Barnaby and junior Preston Cooper — placed sixth in the 4x100 relay.
Scappoose placed last in the boys 4x400, with Patterson, Cooper, senior Mason Earl and freshman Grayson Miner.
Junior Colby Campbell placed ninth in shot put.
Sophomore Alice Davidson placed fifth in the girls 200-meter race and narrowly missed out on finals for the 100-meter race.
Sophomore Peyton Lennox placed sixth in the 400 meter race.
Junior Hailey Everett placed 10th in discus.
