Sherwood West UGB expansion to be mulled
Over the past few years, Sherwood residents and Sherwood West property owners participated in an 18-month planning process resulting in a preliminary concept plan for Sherwood West.
Sherwood West is 1,291 acres of urban reserve designated land located west and north of the existing city limits. Metro, the regional government, looks at expanding the boundary into urban reserve lands every five years.
One of these opportunities is coming up in 2018 and the city is considering proposing a conservative boundary amendment at this time.
After holding a public open house on Oct. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Edy Ridge Elementary School Commons
21472 S.W. Copper Terrace, the Sherwood City Council will hold a public work session on Nov. 7 to discuss Sherwood's "ask" of land to be included in Metro's 2018 Urban Growth Boundary amendment.
The work session begins at 6 p.m. at Sherwood City Hall.
