The commission gave the green light for a 92,899-square-foot entertainment and fun center on Langer Farms Parkway.

COURTESY CITY OF SHERWOOD - Here's an overhead architectural rendition of how the entertainment and recreation center would be spread out along Langer Farms Parkway. The Sherwood Planning Commission has approved a 92,899-square-foot family fun center.

On Dec. 12, the commission approved the center, which is part of a bigger project called Parkway Village South.

The land-use request was made by Langer Family, LLC, with AKS Engineering and Forestry acting as the applicant's representative.

Among the fun center amenities are a go-cart track, a bowling alley and a restaurant.

In addition to the center, plans are to build 32,408 square feet of retail space (along with a 392-square-foot coffee kiosk) to the south of the current Parkway Village at Sherwood, the complex that contains the WalMart superstore.

Earlier, the commission was stalled in its decision on the complex because of a lack of a quorum at its Nov. 28 meeting.
