The workers sustained what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Two construction workers were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries yesterday after a being hit by a car in a construction zone in Sherwood.

A male driver, going north on Elwert Road, passed several road construction signs and a flagger before hitting the two workers, who were working in a closed lane. Both workers were then taken to a local hospital.

"The driver has been cooperative and the investigation is ongoing," said Ty Hanlon of the Sherwood Police Department.
