Sherwood High grad joins distinguished club; school district launched a safety committee; and more.

  • Rebecca Young, a 2016 graduate of Sherwood High School, recently was named a member of Ashland University's Alexander Hamilton Society.

    The Alexander Hamilton Society seeks to gather students and prominent members of foreign policy, national security and international affairs community to foster debate and discussion and create a network of students and professionals to use to their advantages. The society is an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting constructive debate on basic principles and contemporary issues in foreign, economic, and national security policy.

    Young is majoring in history.

  • The Sherwood School District launched a new Facebook page with a new-and-improved design. The page is at
  • The Sherwood School District recently formed the new Sherwood School District Safety Committee. Duties of the committee include placing Ice Alter signs in parking lots and at building entrances, providing ice cleats for district employees and more. The committee meets seven times per year. The district will install suggestion boxes at each school, and community members are welcome to submit ideas there.
