Meeting by Oregon Democrat is one of seven he plans to open 2019; he has conducted 913 of them since he was elected in January 1996.

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden will start 2019 with a town hall meeting in Sherwood.

The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Sherwood Center for the Arts, 22689 S.W. Pine St.

The meeting is part of a longstanding commitment by the Oregon Democrat, who made it upon his election to the Senate 23 years ago, for at least one town hall annually in each of Oregon's 36 counties.

At the close of 2018, Wyden had conducted 913 town halls. The Sherwood meeting is one of seven he plans in early January.
