Langer's entertainment complex to open Friday in Sherwood
The long-anticipated Langer's: Since 1879 Entertainment Center will open its doors to the public on Friday.
Matt Langer, a spokesman for the Langer family, said he hopes to have the 54,000-square-foot facility, located at 21650 S.W. Langer Farms Parkway in Sherwood, open sometime after noon on that day.
From here on out, the center will be open 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays; and 7:30 a.m. to 2 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays, he said.
Features at the entertainment complex include a three-story rock-climbing wall and accompanying ropes course, a 22-lane bowling alley, a two-story Pacific Northwest-themed laser tag attraction, an American-Ninja-Warrior-type obstacle course along with a sports bar and restaurant.
Other highlights include a second floor glassed-in area for parents that includes a bar, vintage arcade, pool and darts as well as an eight-foot diameter gas-fed fireplace along with a giant black metal chimney suspended to the ceiling by huge logger chains.
Meanwhile, a grand opening is set for Oct. 25 with daylong events that will feature popular local band Hit Machine taking the stage at 5 p.m.
The site sits on a total of 15 acres of property and is one of the largest single-site commercial/retail ventures added to Sherwood in recent years.
Pence Construction is the general contractor for the project.
