As ice storm rolls in, Sherwood closes schools Friday
The Sherwood School District will keep buildings closed Friday, Feb. 12, due to icy weather conditions.
The school district announced Thursday evening, Feb. 11, that due to inclement weather, it will remain closed through the weekend.
Comprehensive distance learning will still be held Friday, but classes will not be live, the school district said. Class materials will be available to students by 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Most Sherwood students remain in distance learning due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Sherwood School Board voted Wednesday, Feb. 10, to start reopening schools to in-person learning for elementary students March 8.
