Classical concert set Monday in Sherwood
Symposium Coffee is sponsoring a "Classical Up Close" performance on Monday, May 9, at Sherwood's Vine and Sparrow event space, 22418 S.W. Pine St. The free chamber music concert, designed to bring classical music to the community, begins at 5:30 p.m.
It will feature Sarah Kwak on violin, Nancy Ives on cello and Susan Smith on piano.
Kevin Bates, co-owner of Symposium Coffee, said his Tigard location previously sponsored a similar gathering of musicians.
"It just doesn't happen very often for Sherwood to have Oregon Symphony members show up," he said. "I'm hoping to get some students there and their parents."
Following the concert, a question-and-answer session is planned with the musicians. Free refreshments will be provided by J.Rallison Cellars, Symposium Coffee and Hungry Hero Dessert Co.
(This story has been corrected to reflect that refreshments at the concert are free.)
